College Rules
- Class Timings:
- Classes are held from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Students must attend all classes as per the timetable.
- College Prayer & National Anthem:
- Students should stand in perfect silence and devotion during prayer and the National Anthem.
- Discipline & Conduct:
- Students must not engage in any action that disrupts the smooth functioning of the institution or is harmful to the student community.
- Uniform & Identity Card:
- Students must wear their uniform and carry their identity card while inside the campus.
- Prohibited Items:
- Tobacco, panparag, liquor, and other intoxicants are strictly banned inside the campus.
- Anti-Ragging Policy:
- Any verbal or non-verbal act of ragging is considered a serious offense.
- Ragging is a non-bailable criminal offense under the Indian Penal Code.
- Students found guilty will face severe action, including police involvement and a five-year ban from studying in any institution.
- Restrictions on Notices & Posters:
- No one is allowed to distribute or circulate notices, pamphlets, or leaflets at the gate or inside the campus.
- Banners, flags, and posters are strictly prohibited.
- Prohibition of Protests & Strikes:
- Participation in agitations, strikes, dharnas, or gheraos that disturb the classes and the peaceful atmosphere of the campus is strictly prohibited.
- Restriction on Outsiders:
- Outsiders are not allowed to attend or organize any college event without the Principal’s prior permission.
- Students must not invite or entertain any outsiders.
- Media personnel are allowed only with prior permission from the Principal.
- Authority of the Principal:
- The Principal has the power to enforce punishments, including:
- Suspension
- Compulsory issuance of Transfer Certificate (TC)
- Expulsion
- Issuance of Conduct Certificate:
- A Conduct Certificate is not automatically issued; it must be earned through good conduct and behavior inside and outside the campus.
- The Principal’s decision is final regarding the issuance of the Conduct Certificate.
- Promotion & Examination Eligibility:
- Promotion to the next class, selection for semester-end exams, and issuance of progress reports, attendance records, or Conduct Certificates are at the discretion of the Principal based on University norms.
- Issuance of Transfer Certificate (TC):
- The Principal can issue a Transfer Certificate (TC) without a student’s or guardian’s application if the student violates college rules.
- Authority of the Principal & College Authorities:
- The Principal or authorized college/hostel authorities have the right to frame and issue disciplinary rules for students both inside and outside the campus.
- These rules aim to protect the reputation of the college and hostel.
- Maintaining Campus Cleanliness:
- Students must not disfigure classrooms, compound walls, or buildings by:
- Sticking posters, banners, or cards
- Writing or drawing on walls
- They should also avoid damaging college property.
- Principal’s Control Over Student Organizations:
- Based on a judgment by the High Court of Kerala, the Principal has the right to control all student organizational activities on campus.
- Students Charged with Criminal Offenses:
- Any student facing criminal charges and under suspension will not be allowed on campus without permission.
- Restrictions on Meetings & Processions:
- No meetings, processions, or celebrations can be conducted without the Principal’s permission.
- Fund collection for any cause is strictly prohibited without permission.
- Processions are banned during class hours.
- Leaving the Campus During Class Hours:
- Students must not leave the campus during class hours.
- If unavoidable, they must seek permission from the Head of the Department.
- Loitering on Campus:
- Students are not allowed to loiter in the campus or on college premises during class hours.
- Dress Code & Personal Appearance:
- Students should dress neatly, tidily, and modestly.
- Attendance & Eligibility for Semester-End Exams:
- A Certificate of Attendance will be issued only if:
- The Principal is satisfied with the student’s conduct and progress.
- The student has secured at least 75% attendance in the semester.
- Students must register for the semester-end examination to be eligible for the next semester.
- Principal’s Authority on Disciplinary Actions:
- The Principal has the right to take punitive measures, including:
- Suspension or dismissal from the College/Hostel.
- Compulsory issuance of a Transfer Certificate (TC).
- Fines and penalties.
- Denial of exam permission.
- Reporting cases to the police if necessary.
- Final Authority on Rules:
- The Principal is the final authority in interpreting college rules.
- Any matter not covered by the rules is at the Principal’s discretion, and their decision is final.
