The Department of Food Technology organised a discussion on the topic ‘The Role of Social Media in Shaping Food Habits and Misconceptions” on 22/08/25 explored the impact of social media on food culture, including the spread of misinformation, promotion of unhealthy eating habits, and influence of food trends. Through interactive sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of the complex relationships between social media, food, and health, and developed critical thinking skills to evaluate food-related information on social media. The program equipped participants with strategies for promoting healthy eating habits and combating food misinformation on social media.
