The Department of Computer Science, Malabar College of Arts & Science, Moodadi, in association with IQAC and FHC, Moodadi, successfully organized a social awareness programme titled “Beyond the Bite – Dry Day Campaign Against Mosquitoes in the Nearby Area” on 19th August 2025, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The campaign aimed to create awareness about mosquito-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue, and to highlight the importance of preventive measures like observing dry days to eliminate mosquito breeding sources. The event emphasized the theme “Accelerating the
Fight Against Malaria for a More Equitable World”.
Final year B.Sc. Computer Science and BCA students actively participated in the campaign, visiting the nearby locality and spreading awareness among the public. Through their efforts, the programme effectively conveyed the significance of community involvement in ensuring a healthier and safer environment.
The initiative also served as part of the World Mosquito Day observance, motivating the community to take small yet impactful steps toward eradicating mosquito-borne diseases.
