On August 6, 2025, the final-year B.A. English students of Malabar College of Arts and Science, Moodadi, embarked on a memorable journey through time with a visit to the residence of K. Kelappan, a revered reformer and freedom fighter from Kerala. The experience proved to be both enriching and inspiring.
As they explored the traditional aspects of Kelappaji’s house, the students walked in the footsteps of a legendary figure, gaining valuable insights into his life and legacy. The opportunity to interact with members of K. Kelappan’s family, including his grandchildren, added a warm and personal touch to the visit.
A highlight of the trip was the special interaction with Mr. Nanda Kumar Moodadi, a nationally acclaimed photographer and Kelappaji’s grandson. He shared his experiences and presented a captivating collection of photographs, offering the students a unique perspective on Kelappan’s life and times.
This visit enabled the students to connect with local history, fostering a deeper understanding of the region’s cultural heritage. The experience will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on young minds, inspiring them to appreciate the enduring significance of their cultural roots.
